Celox™ Gauze works independently of the body’s clotting mechanism. Users apply the gauze directly on to the bleeding source and hold pressure for three minutes to stop bleeding from arterial injuries, gunshot wounds, road traffic accidents and other moderate to severe bleeding injuries.
Celox™ blood clotting products have very high surface area chitosan flakes. When they come in contact with blood, Celox™ swells, gels, and sticks together to make a gel like plug. Celox™ blood clotting agent does not set off the normal clotting cascade, it only clots the blood it comes directly into contact with.
Celox™ Gauze hemostat has been CoTCCC approved for DoD use.
